I am Dr Victoria Thompson, a clinical psychologist based in Christchurch and online. Clinical psychologists can help you to tackle a number of difficulties, big or small. Prior to commencing private practice I worked as a psychologist in the forensic sector. I have also completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, specialising in health anxiety.
Sometimes we notice that our struggles begin to take hold of us and make it difficult for us to lead a life that makes us feel fulfilled. I am passionate about helping people to build a life that brings them a sense of mastery and joy. Going to therapy can feel daunting, but it should be a space that feels validating, and gives you a sense of purpose and growth.
I have experience in a number of areas including child and adolescent mental health, forensic psychology and adult mental health. This includes difficulties like anxiety, depression, phobia, OCD and relationship struggles. I also work with eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and binge eating disorder.
I enjoy working with both adults, adolescents and couples. Get in touch with me to find out how I can support you, or to find out more about me.
